From the parking lot at Pian de C&ea cute;a, one enters along the wide, gently sloping gravelly valley of the Grave da Giere, at the end of which is the Casera Podestine shelter. Leaving the casera on the left, we enter the bed of the Soraus stream (three crosses commemorate three Calutans who died in the 1940s, caught in the blizzard while returning from work from the distant Grand Canal). After a short stretch of the river bed, take the path that climbs the slope characterized by a magnificent beech forest, then leave it and cross some detrital gullies, and finally reach the Casera Caserata hut, located just downstream of the homonymous fork. You leave the marvelous wooden hut behind you and go to the Forcella Caserata, a pass towards the Canal Piccolo di Meduna. From the Forcella, along a grassy but evident track, the descent begins, gradually steeper with some ups and downs and crossing of streams, until you reach the wooded hump of Costa Pluma. From here the trail descends in hairpin bends until it reaches the bed of the Canal Piccolo di Meduna, at the confluence with the Canale del Vuar (Rio del Clapon), near the locality of Pineit. The route continues with some ups and downs crossing mixed beech and Scots pine forests, keeping at the base of walls characterized by the presence of leaches and fault mirrors, until reaching, in the locality of Selis, the shore of the Ciul Lake, at the confluence with the Canal Grande di Meduna. From Selis (evident traces of a settlement cyclically submerged by the waters of the Lake), follow the path that leads to a characteristic footbridge that allows you to go to the opposite shore, to take the path that skirts the lake up to the artificial dam. Beyond the dam, which is not to be crossed, the itinerary continues, always following the course of the Meduna, reaching the abandoned hamlets of Frassaneit di Sopra (where the Frassaneit Shelter, created from the renovation of the former school building, is located) and di Sotto and, finally, the village of Tramonti di Sopra.
