The second option within the Monfalcone Theme Park of the Great War is the trench of Height 85, also known as "Enrico Toti", in homage to the famous Italian volunteer soldier who fell here during the Sixth Battle of the Isonzo. Here, you can see the deep rock entrenchment reinforced by concrete parapets built by the Italian soldiers on the previous trenches dug by the Austro-Hungarians. Behind, in the sinkhole, some artillery positions and the remains of the barracks are still visible.
On Height 85 you can also admire the impressive monumental area built to honour all soldiers who fought on the hills surrounding Monfalcone during the Great War. A number of memorial stones were placed to commemorate a number of corps who fought here between 1915 and 1917 as well as fighters who lost their lives and were then awarded the Gold Medal of Military Valour.
