Visit the ravines in Friuli Venezia Giulia, amid steep rocky walls and crystal clear freshwater streams.

The ravines are canyons formed by the erosive action of rivers or streams that forcefully cut into the beds they flow in. Within these gorges there is a continuous succession of waterfalls, pools and steep rocky overhangs. The atmosphere surrounding the ravines evokes uncontaminated places where nature is still wild.

There are various examples of ravines in Friuli Venezia Giulia; foremost among them is the ravine Forra del Cellina. The canyon carved out by the Cellina stream is very large, the biggest in the region. Also of utmost interest are several rare plant species that find an ideal habitat in this environment.

Then there are the ravines Forre of the Cosa stream, near the Grotte Verdi of Pradis, and of the Vinadia stream. The latter are located in the municipality of Lauco and are the result of three large gorges with as many streams flowing through them.

The routes created for visiting these spectacular natural creations will not fail to inspire awe in the observer. Don't miss this extraordinary spectacle of nature!
