International Mushing School in Tarvisio, Friuli Venezia Giulia 


The International Mushing School in Tarvisio, which also houses the restaurant of the "Arkha" holiday farm run by Ararad and Monica Khatchikian, the two Italian mushers who have participated in the most enthralling races in the world: The Iditarod, Yukon Quest (Alaska and Canada) and the Transitalia. The School is located in a spectacular corner of the Fusine plains, just a short distance from the border with Slovenia and the Fusine lakes. It includes 50 cheerful sleigh dogs that become enthusiastic friends during the guided dog trekking trips and along the routes on the delightful scenery of the forests in the Tarvisio area.

Dog Trekking in Friuli Venezia Giulia for adults and children 

Dog trekking consists of an excursion on foot with a dog attached to the person with a harness. It is a sport that can be enjoyed by everyone, even children from 6 years up, and is easy to learn in so much as the help of the dog ensures that one can maintain a very pleasant speed. With the aid of an expert instructor one can learn the techniques of this sport and the landscape aspects of the chosen route are illustrated. 



Grass Sledding 


Something completely new, great fun and a safe way to learn to drive a sleigh on grass and draw closer to the world of mushers, pulled by a 4 wheel "quad" motorbike.
